Support Local: Velo Cats Collective

Here at Kitsap Credit Union, we believe in supporting local businesses year-round but with the holidays in full swing, shopping and eating local is more important than ever. This Saturday, November 30 is Small Business Saturday and we're gearing up for it by featuring local businesses all week long.

Meet Velo Cats Collective, a full-service bicycle shop located in Port Townsend, Washington that sells new and used bikes, parts and accessories. Aside from it's beautiful bright blue facade, Velo Cats Collective is unique in that it is the only worker-owned bicycle cooperative in Port Townsend.

When asked what it's like being a small business in the community, Liz Arp of Velo Cats Collective replied, "Running a small business in Jefferson County gives us a chance to develop relationships with our customers and get to know the community's needs."

It's no secret that small businesses are integral to the economic success of our communities, so days like Small Business Saturday are a great way to recognize their importance. When asked what Small Business Saturday means to Velo Cats Collective, Liz said, "We love being able to provide personalized customer service and hope that our business enhances the local community and economy, as well as provides a much-needed service. We will be having a sale on Small Business Saturday, so come out and fill up your bike basket with deals!"
